There is a good old saying......"Never a lender or borrower be." That means...don't loan out any money that you can't afford to loose.....and don't borrow what you can't afford to pay back. So many people get into real trouble when they can't find happiness living within their means. That's why it's important when buying something on credit... think of the future. Make sure you can pay for what you have incurred. And yes, I live by my own advice. We are not rich by any means...but our house is paid for, as well as our cars. The only thing we have to pay out are utilities and our taxes and insurances. And if there comes a time we can't afford those.....we have an alternative plan. My husband's favorite saying is..."if you fail to plan, then you have planned to fail."

Because you made the debt. If you received a product or service you are obligated to pay for it. You should be able to work out a payment plan with whom the debt is owed. $5 a month is better than nothing. Even if you are disabled you don't want to ruin your credit.

As stated, when you were healthy, you didn't mind racking up those bills, so, now, why should you mind paying them? Oh, I know the answer, really, because your income is probably lower than your income before being certified as being disabled.
If it's causing a problem, you can always attempt to file bankruptcy.

Because you have purchased and used the services or items. I don't know what your disability is but unless you are a deaf, mute paraplegic, you can find work.

If you can type, you can work and you obviously can type.

Because there is no such thing as a free ride. Get disability insurance if that scenario concerns you.

Because those debts are still there, and don't depend on your ability to work. that's just the way it is.
