WARM baths are marvellous for easing the many aches and pains of pregnancy, with my last baby, I had SPD (the pubic bone starts to separate too early) and the only thing that would stop the agony for a blissful hour was a bath!
Watch out though in the last 2 weeks or so as with 2 of my babies, my waters broke in the bath and I DIDN'T KNOW!! Then my contractions started coming thick and fast and with 1 of the babies I nearly had him in the bath, I got stuck!
Just shower towards the end!

Yes the best thing you could do is make sure the water is not too hot. I've been feeling the need for a hot bathe instead of my usual warm showers but I did some research and it said a warm bathe would be good.

Even scalding hot baths are fine, you just aren't supposed to raise your core body temperature over 101F. Which is hard to do in a bath because you aren't entirely submerged and bath water cools down.
Even then the risks of birth defects from excessive heat are really only present for the first 6 weeks. After that the risks are dehydration, lightheadedness, blood pressure problems, etc. All of which are obvious and immediately fixable.
Funny how everyone "knows" not to get into a hot tub, but no one is aware of the risks of running a fever the first 6 weeks of pregnancy.

I have five children and when I was pregnant with each one my doctors said I could take baths (even hot ones) up to the last six weeks of pregnancy. At that point I was always directed to take showers only. I'm sure your doctor will tell you the same, however, it never hurts to ask as we are all different. If you have been prone to getting infections, he or she may tell you showers only.
Have a wonderful pregnancy! There is nothing more marvelous and miraculous than carrying and giving birth to your own precious child! I think you are going to make a great mom as you are already asking great questions about and showing concern for the well-being of your little one! Annie

there are nothing wrong with baths...as long as they are not way hot. ACTUALLY you are ENCOURAGED to take baths if you are having problems with contractions as a bath can relax your body and SLOW the contractions down. the reason why you are told not to sit in a hot tub is because they can raise your body temperature which is not so conducive to your baby's health. and if it's a PUBLIC hot tub, there are possible bacteria/contaminates in them that can make you VERY ill and harm the baby

Yes you can take a bath, but not super hot. In fact, my friend got the name for her boy when in the bath tub. She & her husband couldn't agree on a name and one day she was in the tub, he was shaving while discussing names & he said why don't we name him Jonah because he's coming out of the belly of a whale! He is a kidder & so is she (she didn't get mad or hurt feelings) & so that's what they named him! True story!

I take regular baths. Some soaps and bubble bath fragrances can dry you out from what i heard. And i heard that it's ok to get into a got tub later in pregnancy and as long as your temp don't go up and you don't stay in long. but i don't think i still would.

Baths are fine. Just don't make them too hot, they could overheat the baby.
They say no hot tubs because they have a temperature around 104 degrees and since it warms up your core temperature it can over heat the baby.
