Do other countries accomodate American Caucasians? Im far from being prejudice, however; I don't believe our system is...This has always bothered me. I find it disturbing that you may be accepted into a University due to your race, sex & ethinticity & not your achievements. There are many other "benefits", too.

LOL... I think that Affirmative action is unfair and the best person should get the job..I also think that Slavery, segregation and the Holocaust was unfair.
So think of Affirmative action as reparations for 400 years of Slavery. In 400 Years then maybe Affirmative Action should be changed...

Affirmative Action was developed to prevent the minority population from being discriminated against and to "level" the playing field. Unfortunately, the times have changed and the opportunities do exist without Affirmative Action. In my mind it is a slap in the face to individuals that work hard on achieving excellence only to either get the position due to their minority status or to be passed upon. It is sad that people think we still need to disgrace minority races with Affirmative Action laws.

No one should be handed anything based on race, especially college. Affirmative Action is a huge waste of the government's money. They GIVE a Pell grant to an underprivileged black to only have them drop out a year later. Crazy isn't it?

This may sound harsh, but if they are not citizen's or taking the proper steps to become citizens we should not do anything for them. I live in an area where some of the illegal people are on food stamps or feel they are "entitled" to other benefits. If they ar enot going to go through the proper channels, send them back to where they came from.

No. There are a large number of people who recognize that "affirmative action" is racial discrimination. (Maybe you should read the American Free Press.)

AA had its time. It was completely justified at first. These days? Not sure... I would LIKE to think we're getting close to the point where everyone is judged solely on their accomplishments. Isn't that what Dr. King's dream was all about?

I agree - Affirmative Action is totally unfair. The best man should get the job. Period, no matter what color he/she is.

Believe me, you are not the only one. I know black people who have a problem with it. Most people want to be known for their accomplishments, not their skin color.
