My goodness people so hung up on the word "hate" and didn't answer my question.

I agree that Bush has forsaken the policies and tenants of the Republican party. Why is it that from Fox News to Limbaugh (by his own admission) everyone is constantly "spinning" us away from the obvisous with Bush?

Centurion,

Amen to that. A little level-headedness.

Well said.

Ruth,
Sorry about the re-post people were getting away with trite repsonses on the word "hate" and going away. That's why I reposted.

My feelings aren't hurt about liberal, I know what I am. Reagan was the greatest president in my lifetime and I refuse to be blinded by the machine out there.

You however, seem to enjoy the blinders

more power to you...

Captain Planet,

Love the name.

You don't think the media is carrying water for Bush and the administration? That's falsified? Gotta disagree there.

I'm a (moderate) republican, I like Bush, but I'm also pro-choice, for stem-cell research, I couldn't care less if two men or two women marry, etc.
You could be whichever you like and agree and/or disagree with whatever and whoever you want.

1. Republicans supported it too. There were some liberal democrats opposed to the bailout. You cannot say the bailout was either liberal or conservative. 2. Reagan increased federal spending and the federal deficit more than any president before him. Are you calling Reagan a liberal now too? 3. "Which nearly ever democrat in congress supports, though they won't come out and say it forthright." Then how do you know they support it? Do you have any evidence or is this just a guess? Maybe Bush just wants the cheap labor for his conservative corporate buddies? No invasion of country occured on those previous occasions you mentioned without broad international support. Carter and Clinton did not use unwarranted wire tapes. They got warrants. You are wrong. The recession that sparked the initial tax cuts ended a long time ago. Keynesian economic policy would have dictated removing the tax cuts especially during a time of war. Did you miss the whole real estate boom/bubble? I have never known a Republican president to limit the size of government. Both Reagan and Bush I increased federal spending and the deficit. Republicans just like to talk about limiting government, but once they are in power, they expand the government and grab as much power as possible. Bush is a typical Republican president.

"Why is it that from Fox News to Limbaugh (by his own admission) everyone is constantly "spinning" us away from the obvisous with Bush?"

You could write a very long book about this question, and there just is no short answer that does the question justice.

America has been so propagandized, for so long... the fight for 'freedom', the American way, home of the brave, land of opportunity, the greatest nation on earth, yada, yada, yada... There's so many people in America who have simply stopped thinking for themselves. They are entirely pliable. They wait to be told what to think and how to act... what their values should be, what to focus on and what to ignore. There are generations who have operated on that basis, and they in turn have taught their children to operate that way... to relate with others, their society and the world according to the dictates of others and some nebulous national identity that has been created for them.

They've been taught that America is "This"... and only this. Resist anything and everything that isn't "This".

And it's such a con!! "This" is for the sake of the elite, the powerful, the wealthy... the movers and shakers, the politicians, the corporations. "This" is like the virtual world of "The Matrix". It isn't real. It's an impression, an illusion.

But they've lived in that virtual world for so long... they just refuse to take the blue pill and wake up.

The rest of the modern world looks on at that anomaly and just shakes their collective heads. They wonder, "How on earth can so many people become so satisfied to live out their entire existence as drones and puppets?"

If I remember correctly, I think that Tucker Carlson once pointed out that Bush isn't really conservative. After all, traditional conservatives are supposed to believe in smaller government, and under Bush the government has gotten much bigger. And not only that, but it seems to me that not all Republicans share Bush's socially conservative views. That being said, I can certainly understand why some conservative Republicans would dislike Bush.

Several Republicans have told me that they dislike Bush because he is not fiscally responsible, the way Republicans have been in the past. The country has a huge deficit now and the national debt is higher than it's ever been.

I suppose. I answered that question. Now I think you are just grandstanding. Its not good form.

If you are a Conservative Republican, ask some questions about that. Apparently, you are just joining the "I hate Bush" bandwagon, which really takes no creativity nor intellect.

Turn off the tv if it offends you. But now I get why you are being called a liberal around here.

EDIT: See, you are projecting. I believe you would be hard-pressed to find proof that I live with "blinders." Simply because I use this forum to answer questions about Republican views, and do NOT feel the need to bash the President, does not mean I have on "blinders." Stop projecting.

If I was a conservative, I wouldn't like the way George Bush has decided to spend our children and grand children's future, let alone starting a war based on lies. 10 biilion a month of your good tax dollars are going to a country other then ours for no good reason.

Conservatives-Republicans have their beliefs and values and following a faulty policy doesn't make them anymore of a conservative/Republican.
