Living in South Kent. Driving is an option, have good computer skills but little artistic talent. I can cook, but not very well. We have a meeting in the evening, so has to be a daytime thing. Wish I had more cash, but five pounds really is an upper limit. HELP!

Perhaps you could type up the scriptures in Corinthians about love..."Love is patient, love is kind..." and print off a copy on some pretty paper after you add a nice comment of your own. In the US we go to Kinko's or Office Depot and we can purchase the heavier and nicely decorated paper for about twenty five cents a piece. Then buy either a chocolate or a real rose, tie a nice ribbon on it, roll your "letter of love" in scroll fashion, secure it with the same ribbon as your rose, and your special lady will probably be blessed out of her boots! Have a great day! Annie

record a message onto CD then post it through her letterbox with a red rose (£1.50) at 6am in the morning or at a time before she’s up. on the CD should be a loving message i.e. how much u love her etc as well as telling her a funny story and a romantic story from your relationship. On the end of it should say to call you. Then after this should be 5 of her favourite love songs or 'your song'

You then go to hers at her call with a small bottle of massage oil and a nice card. The card will cost about £2 and massage oil about £1.50. Run her a hot bubble bath then get in it together and afterwards give her a really nice massage

Take her to a really big park, (bring some food i.e. a picnic) and just lounge about together for the rest of the day

ta-da!!

A small potted red minature rose? They are usually around £2.99 best to buy it from the supermarket as otherwise you will pay more.

Red tulips are equally as nice - so a bunch from the supermarket for under £3 and some red tissue paper from your stationary shop around them should be doable for under £5.

Otherwise how about a small box of very good truffles? You can get those little ballotine boxes with 4-6 chocolates of the more expensive variety.

Please don't go to the pound shop!

See www.moneysavingexpert.com - there is a forum on this topic.
Very useful indeed - lots even cheaper than £5 -
It really is the thought that counts - try making them feel special, like nothing is too much trouble, think about the little things - take a chore on yourself for a change, look into their eyes rather than calling from another room when speaking, smile more, complement on outfit/perfume/eyes etc. Try to remember why you got together in the first place, maybe re-create a special time - rent a movie that brings back special memories.
It doesn't have to be expensive to make someone feel special.

I liked what the one said about having the verses from Corinthians for love printed up. Something that could be framed.

But to be a real romantic - I would also have all the verses for what a husband is to be to a wife, with your personal comments at the top that this is all that you want to be for your wife and that it is what you will strive to be with her. Then ask her to marry you again right there in your home, just the two of you together repeating your vows.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

I know I'd be happy with a good mix tape or cd of all my favourite songs, it's thoughtful. Give her that, a box of chocolates and a meal you made. That'd suit me fine x Interesting that all the men got the thumbs up and the women got the thumbs down! lol, I thought this was about what women wanted = )

I agree with the first person. Off to the pound shop with you, sir! You can get at least two or three nice things there, and besides it is what comes from the heart that counts!

You can make her a card on your computer and if there are any fresh flowers growing in the countryside pick some of these for her. Women love these flowers, doesn't really matter what kind either, it's the fact that you hand picked them for her.

Get on the internet and find a delia smith recipe for home baked cookies. I'm completely useless in the kitchen and even I can cope with a delia recipe. If your partner is concerned about their weight remind them you love them exactly as they are, and anyway a couple of cookies won't make any difference.
