No it is not legal. Your current name and only name is the one you changed by deedpoll. You officially and legally gave up your old name for the new one. Your new one is now your name and should be used on all documentation. Although in England another law says you can call yourself whatever you want.

I changed my name back to my maiden name after my divorce and that is the name I was known as when I married again. In Britain a marriage certificate is a deed poll document and both males and females can change their surname when they marry and be legally and officially known as that, though they don't have to change their name at all, it is not law that you do. Also the name that you were born with is also seen as legal and official. A person can be known by any name they choose but when it comes to official documents such as passports, doctors notes, bank accounts and driving licences then it has to be the official legal name unless it has been changed by deed poll.

If it helps, my son changed his name by deed poll at 16, when he applied for a passport and his driving licence and opened his bank account he had to take his original birth certificate AND his deed poll certificate.

I'm sure it's fine. On most applications women are asked to write down their other last names. Plus your social security number never changes.

I would say yes. It is a legal marriage.
