I am currently 38 weeks and just wondering do first babies tend to go over-due like i'm led to believe. Was yours early, on due date or late?

Everybody told me that most first time mums give birth overdue. My baby came 4 days early, which I was relieved as he was 8lb13oz! My cousin however was 9 days overdue with her first, and my sister was 11 days overdue with hers. It really does vary. Good luck, and enjoy being a mum!!

I was 5 days overdue and had to be induced because of high blood pressure. My sister-in-law was just 35 weeks - 5 weeks early. If you want to try and naturally induce labour, the best thing is sex! There is a hormone in the semen ( prostaglandin ) which is almost the same as the synthetic hormone ( prostin ) which is used in hospital to soften the cervix and help induce labour. My first 3 babies were all overdue and induced, but I finally had a natural labour with my 4th, on my due date, just hours after a quicky with my husband!!

My son arrived 1 week before his due date... but that depends on who you ask about his due date.

When I found out I was pregnant, they sent me for an ultrasound to date the pregnancy because I was unsure of when my last period was. According to that ultrasound, my due date was June 2nd. I went back a few weeks later because that first one was really early... all they could see was the gestational sac. At the 9 week ultrasound, they adjusted my due date to May 29th. When I told my doctor, she said we'll stick with the June 2nd due date because the earlier the ultrasound, the more accurate they are for dating purposes.

My son was born on May 28th, 2006 -- 1 day early of my revised due date, which was 1 week earlier than the due date my doctor gave me.

My daughter was born 7 days after my due date, but If she had not have come on her own, I would have been induced on the 12th day after my due date!!! Your baby will come when it is ready, and not before, but if you are at the point when you want it to arrive, sex a great way of starting labour!!! I tried everything and this is the only one that worked! Good Luck

My first came on her due date, second was 15 days late, third was 7 days late, and the last was 9 days early. So they always tell you give or take two weeks. I have found the little buggers come when are are good and ready and not a minute before. Congrats on your blessing, trust me it will be worth the wait.

My first baby was born on 30th November 2006.

I was 38 weeks and 6 days pregnant! My due date was 8th December but my waters broke in the morning of 29th November and he was born at half past midnight the next morning.

My mum was due to have me on 22nd December (her first) and I was born on 17th.

So not all first babies go over.

My first daughter was born at 30 weeks.

My second was born 38 weeks. Both were Cesarean. Unfortunately babies do not conform with set dates and times. Good luck!
