Some sites just have features that pop up that say you are in an area of serious threats if that what you mean. There's an area you can go to that you can turn off for alittle bit that will allow you to download the free security. But i recommend Mcafee for securty and virus protection. It took me alittle bit to get it to know what i wanted but since then it works perfectly.

Never believe one of these adverts, you didn't ask them to give your pc a security scan so its a con.
If these adverts just appear when you're online then disappear when you log off, you can get rid of them by switching to Firefox web browser. Even with the pop up blocker on IE7 they still get through.
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
Add the Ad Block plug in for faster browsing;
https://addons.mozilla.org/search.php?q=ad+block&type=A&app=firefox - Adblock Plus
Install Spywareblaster, an anti spyware and an anti adware. Just an anti virus and firewall isn't enough any more;
You need all these anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Plus;

the 1st step: persist with alongside - Open administration Panel ->device -> more desirable -> device risk-free practices turn off device restoration. Step 2: confusing Reboot. Press F8 because it comes up. go with risk-free mode with networking. Step 3: Run your antivirus and Spybot (or different spyware software). while those are carried out and characteristic wiped sparkling the device, do yet another confusing reboot. Step 4: enable domicile windows to boot and log in. persist with the 1st step and activate device restoration instead. this would desire to restoration it. It no longer, you will would desire to perform a little more desirable registry maintenance. I recommend getting PCTools antivirus utility. that's loose and makes use of a similar virus definitions as Norton and McAffee.

this happened to me.
the problem is that the security threat is caused by the same program that is informing you. you then click on a link which offers to sell you a solution.
very sneaky.
adaware etc couldn't find the adware responsible, panda antivirus did.
download it for a free trial. once the free trial runs out, download it again.
good luck!

i had this happen to me, its a virus or some kind of spyware/malware, giving you a false reports, the only way i got rid of it was to reformat my harddrive and start over.
you obviously down load, either music or videos from limewire or another P2P program, thats where you got it from.
not all antivirus are 100% ful proof, but some are better than others, try one of the following
AVG Antivirus
NOD32 Antivirus
Kaparesky Antivirus
aslo download a antispyware and antiadware program

Go to Start, Control Panel, Security or Firewall settings, and turn it all on or say that you have a firewall already monitoring the service.

I'm going to assume you are using windows Xp in which case you can go to the control panel than administrative tools, services and scroll down to messaging and click to stop it then change its option for starting to manual and click to save and then exit. that should solve your problem . good luck

Lies I tell you, your PC is fine, download Google toolbar to block popups, and never click on anything that say´s
your are the "1,000,000th visitor", "your PC is infected", "your PC is vulnerable", "your PC has errors on it", "you have ## messages waiting for you" they are cheap shots to get people like you to go to dodgy websites and purchase software that you don´t need or want.
