You will probably need to give her some formula, but the doctor should tell you what to do. If he/she didn't, I'd call them today.

The best way to boost supply is to nurse and/or pump more often! How often are you nursing now? How long per session? I'd expect a baby that age to be nursing every 2-3 hours around the clock.

Why do you feel your supply has gone down? Many times moms THINK they have a supply problem when it's something else. It's important to note that the feel of the breast, the behavior of your baby, the frequency of nursing, the sensation of let-down, or the amount you pump are not valid ways to determine if you have enough milk for your baby.

How is her weight gain? Can you post all weights, birthweight, lowest weight and weights taken since then? Is she growing in length and head circumference? Is she wetting and soiling?

If you give a supplement, make sure you are pumping at the same time to try to boost your supply. Talk to a local La Leche League Leader or a Lactation Consultant about getting a supplemental nursing system (SNS) so you can give the supplements AT the breast and stimulate your own supply.

Consider using fenugreek to boost your supply. Be sure to read the link below first. Typical dosage is 3-4 capsules 3x per day.

do what doc says and supplement with formula. As for trying to get your supply up, try pumping in between feedings. YOur body should respond by making more milk, because the "demand" is going up. If not, then it may just be one of those things where, for whatever reason, your milk supply just dries up - it's not uncommon.

there are pills you can take - which are perfectly healthy and safe for you both - speak to your GP about it

I had them as my milk dried up and I wanted to keep using breast milk - and within a few days it was flowing normally

Don't supplement. Contact lalecheleague.org THey're brilliant, nonjudgemental and know everything about nursing.

The more you nurse, the more milk you make. Are you eith her all day, or are you leaving her with others? You need to nurse on demand to keep up her supply.
