If working out that late isn't affecting your sleep patterns then it is ok, although you may get a larger benefit if you went slightly earlier. You are getting your body pumped to burn calories for the next few hours then shutting it down for bed. I'm surprised you're able to sleep. Taking the protein isn't going to hurt. Your body should still use it for muscle repair even if you are sleeping. I don't know why it would turn into fat.

It depends on how much you take. Protein is calories just like fat and sugar. Your body will use what you need and break the rest down into fat and sugar, so yes, too much protein can make you fat. As to the when, I don't think that is as much of an issue, it is more likely going to interfere with your sleep than anything.

taking protein is ok durring such a late workout, but....you shouldn't take it every day, cause there might be some liver problems. when you take protein like that, your liver gets too much sugar. so be careful. I take protein drink every monday and my muscles still grow at a normal rate.
