In my opinion u would not be odd for eating on ur own. But if u had made friends and then u go and eat a meal on ur own then that would be odd.

Not necessarily, it's a great way to meet new people, seeing as how you won't be tied down in a conversation with someone you know. If nothing happens the first time, I'm sure the next few times you'll meet someone new.

No, not at all. I've had to do this for several relocations. Just bring a magazine or newspaper. Or start out at one of those chain restaurants with the little bar area (Chili's, Fridays, etc.) and some TVs to watch. Enjoy your dinner!

i'm married, but I still eat alone on occassion...get over your esteem issues. You never know, I nice fine fella might ask to sit down and before long you will get an even newer taste of the city.
