My 7mth old daughter's stools are small dry pellets that sometimes come out in a clump. She has been having lactulose and microlax to help her to go. We will be introducing coloxyl drops soon. She eats mostly fruit and vegies and still breastfeeds mostly. Her urine is clear and odourless and she has lots of wees.

Is there anything I can do to help her or do I just 'sit it out' and wait for things to improve when she starts crawling (probably won't be for another 5mths)

Hmmm.. have you asked your Dr. about using infant supositories. I had this problem with my first son, and we went through formulas like crazy when nothing worked, he advised using those.
For about a month we used the suppositories at the same time everyday. about mid way through the day, and again right before bed. During this time we noticed towards the end he was going more on his own than with the suppositories and also it wasn't so hard, and clumpy. When I asked my Dr. about it, he told me just like you, if it hurt to go that bad or it was a lot of work, you'd wait until you had too, there for making the problem worse. With using the suppositories we had not only " made" him go, but, helped his body adjust to going at the same time.
It may not be right for your baby, but, at this age, I would definately ask your Dr.
Also if your not getting answers, or they have not tested for any blockages etc. I would ask about that too.
Remember you have the right to seek a second opinion, sometimes Dr.s miss things or don't think about a solution because they are too involved in the problem.

Start giving her some juices. Apple juice usually helps to free up the constipation, and actually I have seen children who have to stop drinking juice or have it very diluted because it can cause the opposite problem. Just start out by giving her a little and see if it helps, it definately couldn't hurt. Also do baby exercises with her and give her lots of "tummy time", if you gently push her legs up to her tummy it can improve the pains that she feels from being backed up.

If you give her sugar in a bottle of water it will help flush out her system. When my son gets constipated I give him this and he is in full working order again within a few hours.

I hope this helps x
