I was just curious if the families that made all that money in the 1800-early 1900's are still wealty and powerful. People including the Rockefellers, Mellon, Vanderbuilt, or Carnegie. Thanks.

Old money still exist on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Rockefeller and Vanderbilt still attend NYC soirees for the rich. Nelson Rockeller was the US vice-president when President Gerard Ford took office following Watergate. And Gloria Vanderbilt is one of the biggest names in fashion. Other family members take a lower profile.
