what is the difference between "unexpectedly" and "suddenly" in an obituary?

''Suddenly'' describes how quickly the death itself occured(in this case the victim died instantly/in a flash of a moment).

"Unexpectedly" means that the victim was not aware of the fact that they were about to be killed/die.

There's really no difference, just a word choice issue.

I would think that they both mean almost the same thing
