I bought a purse from a good will shop and I found a yen in it and was wondering how much it is worth in US dollars? I have tried other search engines but they judt do not give me an exact answer. Hope someone can help me.

100 yen is about 1 us dollar. check the daily exchange rate online. You best bet is to keep it because if you take it to the airport to exchange they will charge you..
for example..
if the $-yen is $1=122 yen
the yen-$ will be about 1$=145 yen

1 Yen is less than a penny. It's a little over 100 Yen per dollar -- right now between 112 and 118 Yen to the dollar.

Prices in Japan are in Japanese yen. Stores do not accept payment in American dollars.
