I am travelling to Lagos Nigeria in March with my Nigerian boyfriend for 2 weeks, 1 for him to do family and friends and 1 for me to do some sightseeing and tourist things, can anyone recommend something that I MUST do while i'm there - apart from not getting mugged!?

i disagree with almost all of the opinions about lagos.lagos has its trouble spots like any other city in the world.i live in london, trust me i know.
there are lots of tourist areas, u could visit the beaches, there are lots there alpha beach, lekki beach, takwa bay beach etc
theres the water parks at ikeja, numerous nights clubs, restaurant and bars around ikeja, victoria island.
theres also the national theatre, shows at muson centre etc am sure your boy friend should know some nice places.

Please, check the state department travel warning for Nigeria. Lagos, Nigeria is full of armed gangs. There are cultural things to see there. 99.5% of Lagos is not hooked up to the sewer system. That is perhaps why that other guy said that. I have seen very few travel guide review for Lagos, Nigeria. You did not say what country you are from. You might check with your country's embassy in Nigeria for further information.

i bet you'll have fun.. if you go to the right places..

i just recently went with my mother and sisters to Nigeria last year..
we really encountered no problems where we were...
though maybe lagos would be more dangerous since like the only problem we had was when travelling to Edo state from lagos..
because the police are just looking for money and they like block the roads from the airport..
though we got by fairly easy because my cousin is a lawyer and my aunt (his mother) is a judge so he just showed his card and they let us go on. after that when we got to benin city in edo it was really fun.. just like a regular vacation

we went to the zoo, and to the obas palace which was really fun they had huge ostriches there but anyways yeah it was fun..

so yeah i don't know much about lagos cause i was barely there but i had fun..

Hey i'm american married to a nigerian. And I've also been their I got married their in Abuja 3 years ago. Nigeria does have its rough spots but don't let anyone make you fill like u have to be in hiding while your on your visit. I stayed their for 1 month. Took a while to get use to the power outages and water being cut off everyday at a certain time but other than that I LOVED IT. If you have any questions please contact me i'll see if i can answer them for you. Goodluck.. Tesia

The Winchester secret homestead. it is in Santa Clara, yet it truly is close to San Jose. it truly is a monument to lost guilt equipped through a woman who become the inheritor to the Winchester firearms fortune and felt haunted through the ghosts of everybody who ever were given killed with a Winchester.

,look at the locals PISSING (urinating) into the drains and on walls all over the Town.
they way they (men and women) are doing it is defer from one district to the other, so you will have an endless time of enjoying yourself while there.

nothing. stay in your hotel and you'll come back home alive and with all your belongings. if you go out, do not take your passport with you.
