I agree with H, there are far worse things he could be doing. My ex-boyfriend used to go fishing almost every saturday for the whole day. It was his way of relaxing after a hard week at work, I would either go with him and read a book or work on my knitting, or I would (more often) go out with my friends to the mall or something. Try to look at it as a good thing for both of you.

Yes I agree it is really boring - when he went to the riverbank to fish my husband said it's not just about catching fish, but having time to think and clear your mind and also to enjoy the countryside and the wildlife. I can see that to some extent. What is even worse is that he has started fishing on the computer - a game called fishsim - he competes for records and goes to locations all over the world. What I want to know is how can you eat a virtual fish? I think this is the most boring pastime in the world!

I do think it's boring, but at the same time it's not that boring. I think what keeps alive this sport is the expectancy of getting a fish. Sometimes the fish don't bite, but still, it doesn't matter. I guess that it gets boring when no fish bite at all, and the mosquitoes start to bite, and OMG. I find it hard to decide. I've gone with other people to fish, but I just watch them. I don't know how to fish, but I would like to learn, and experiment if it's fun or boring.

It's a way to relax. Some people go shopping, driving, hunting, swimming, reading whatever. It's a way to get away from the hussle and bussle of the every day life. Enjoy the peace and quite of the outdoors, the warth of the sun, the sound of the water. I used to with my boyfriend and while he was fishing I would wonder around enjoying the sites and sounds. And like other people said he could be doing alot worse things - like golf ;)

Well, it does take a lot of patience and it CAN be boring...but it just gives you a chance to relax and enjoy nature. And the feeling you get when you catch a fish...wow!! :) I am not a HUGE fishing fan but I think it is definitely fun!!

Nooo it is not boring. It is relaxing, but then i do not like dam-fishing i prefer sea-fishing. It is better for him to fish than to mess you around , not so:)) You find something you like doing and go about your business and just leave him be. That way you will get on well. It is good to have some time to yourself and not spend every minute of the day together and he will appreciate you more for being caring.:)))

there is more to fishing than catching something.. People fish for relaxation, like women who lay in the sun to tan, its something that calms you and you may not accomplish much. I think fishing is nice because I like to be out in nature, especially near water running or otherwise. To each his own. Maybe you would like it more if you went along, and tried to enjoy it?......
