i'm left with a perfect husk of myself, should i sit it in the window to ward of burglars or sit it at the dining table and have tea parties with it?

My 3 year old would certainly prefer you sit it at the dining table so she can have tea parties with it.
She makes a mean pot of tea.....

We and put them in boxes and save them for Show 'n Tell. Sometimes, if you like, you can sit on the kitchen table but only if in you box. You may join the coffee clutch if you like. Only my granddaughter has tea parties.

When humans shed their skin it floats all over the place and forms the dust that covers surfaces. Your skinless husk would be immersed in a mountain of dust and who would want to eat tea in those conditions?
