Oh, I agree wholeheartedly with the Love Actually suggestion, and that would be my first choice if it wasn't for The Lakehouse. It's one of the only films where I've actually been willing the romantic leads to get together. Failing either of those, go for Notting Hill, because it's funny as well as incredibly romantic.

I usually dont like romance movies, but I agree to see one with my girlfriend on Valentines Day every year. One that we both liked was The Holiday (she made me go to that one while we were visint her folks over the holidays). I dont know if it's out on DVD yet but it was pretty good.

I'm a guy, and dont really like romantic movies, but "Just Like Heaven" was really good. With Reese Witherspoon. I saw it in the theater, and my girlfriend had to drag me in to see it, but I really loved it after I saw it. I would recommend it.

an italian film... but "cinema paradiso" watch the original cut, not the director's cut. it's a great movie and won an oscar for best foriegn film.
