The average computer user doent need to spend money on Norton, Mcaffee, Use the AVG free version. It is update daily and is the better one out there.

On spyware, tracking cookies, use that free Spybot and Inoculate your computer against 1575 snooping websites. Remember, some website require snooping cookies to survive, so it brings them in $$$. and you cannot use their website without these track cookies. There is virtually no speed change is tracking cookie downloads so I wouldnt be overconcerned about these things either. Mostly much to do about nothing here.

If you have had a Antivirus for some time I suggest you use the Tun-up Utilities from www.tune-up.com. The reason being is that viruses, trogans, worms lodge in the Registry and have the ability to change computer operation slow down a computer and even freeze frame. This is a Free trial 30 days, so if you download to desktop and burn a disc before using you can keep that. Or if you like it, which I do pay the $39 for a subscription which is constantly updated.

The best of the Market the you pay for it:
Mcafee - after vigorous testing the public vote decided that Mcafee did not slow down your pc as much as Norton and was easier to use.
