Life is hell, we dont get along at all and we've been married for only a month and a few days. How fast can I get divorced in NY so I can move on with my life?

Well, I got a bit more confused now. Replying to questions:
Im 27, he's 28
we've been together for a year and a half prior to the wedding. we used to fight as couples do before engagement... we fought a bit more after that. I thought after getting married things would be better, once we'd be together more...
I was wrong...
Sometimes we love each other, sometimes hate is not even close to what we feel... we r not living together anymore, we talk though.
We both agree it was a mistake, but he scares me a bit, I just want to get it over with as soon as I can.
I heard of a couple who got divorced in a month. Is it really possible?

You can only get an annulment if you meet the grounds for it. Short-term marriage is not grounds for annulment.

In New York, unless you have ‘fault’ grounds for divorce (ie adultery, cruel treatment, etc) I believe you have to be separated for a year before you can get divorced.

Next time, think a little longer before you say "I do” :)

Discuss your situation with a New York attorney.

I really do not know. I think withouth and problems if you both agree on everything about 6 to eight weeks and that is on the low side. You also may be able to get an annulment. Why is the marriage so bad? Why can you not get along? How long did you guys know each other before you married and how old are you? Did you guys even know each other at all before marriage?

Have you consummated the marriage? Maybe you can get an annulment? The speed of an annulment or divorce all depends on if your husband wants the same thing you do unfortunately! You are probably going to have to contact an attorney. Good Luck!

It could take up to 6 weeks or even more if they make you see a marriage counsellor . If not up to a month give or take a few days .
