Approximatelly 30.000 light years from the centre of the Milky way on the Orion branch. but you can have a better understanding and view if you go to this site .

the solar system is in one of the spiral legs almost 2/3rd towards the center

i was under the understanding that we were out farther than that.. much farther... closer to 3/4ths or more away from the center.. there is a black hole in there...

U cant see it u are looking the wrong direction so u cant see it.
