i'm sick of this 'there are 11 of them' bullsh*t. history is history. if we did have a white history month, that would be racist, right? it's a classic double standard.

I personally respect black history and the people, but I fell there should not be a full month dedicated towards it. A black history day would be more appropriate. I believe if we had a white history month there would be a huge out cry from several other cultures. It is very sad that people have to define themselves by their colour, and not their true character. There is good and bad in all races.

i think thats a good idea... why should there be a black history month and not a white one, isnt that racism also? and what the crack are you talking about that theres 11 white history months....we dont celebrate white history on those months any more than we do black history. Then one month black history gets to be celebrated. ya and thats another thing the "black entertainment television"? if white people had a "white entertainment television" we would be racist.

I personally think that teacher's and books incorporate black history in the course of the school year and there just should be no Black history month, do we have history month for all other ethnicity's? No we don't, it should all be included together. Some teacher's and books may not be as good as the ones my kids have but they should include it all. What are we saying to our children if history lesson's are segregated by race?

like that would ever happen.....we should do away with all of the history months and celebrate the fact that we are Americans, with the many freedoms and luxuries other countries dont have.
and for everyones info there are not 11 white history months...

March 2007
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
May 2007
Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15 - October 15, 2006

I think black history should be celebrated, but shouldn't it be included in "American History" People are so worried about racism because it is still out there, but if we would stop seperating things like history into white and black, maybe the problem wouldn't be so bad. We are all americans so why don't we celebrate American History as that

Its like anything, white people can't do it or it would be politically correct. Could you imagine the Ms White America Pagent, or the White Entertainment Channel on TV? What if a black cop shot a white criminal and hundreds of white people marched in the street?

There is a double standard in this country that won't allow for a white history month, because people would cry, "That's racist."
