Headaches are very common. I was susceptible to them pre-pregnancy and they became a daily occurence during my first trimesteer. However, they became rare during my second, which was a relief. It is recommended that you apply something WARM to your head since cold items constrict the blood vessels, causing the headache to increase. Yet some people beg to differ, so I guess whichever you prefer is fine. I usually used a warm towel over my forehead and took a nap. Hot compresses are fine for back pain, as well as using body pillows. Your body is changing, so aches and pains are norma, and will continue throughout your pregnancy. If you find that these methods are not working, and wish to take Tylenol, that is considered safe, but you should always ask your doctor first!!!

Tylenol is about all you can take for the headache or back pain. Let your OB know about the headaches when you go in. They will want to monitor them because it *can* be a sign of other problems.
Both a heating pad or cooling pads are fine during pregnancy. I had one of those rice socks you heat in the microwave that I used on my back the whole time and it was WONDERFUL.

i get headaches all the time too, i just take tylenol, or i lay down and take a nap, sleep helps trust me. for the back pain, i use a heating pad, some doctors are ok with it some arent so you might ask your ob, but it seems to help, also if you have a partner it helps to get him to give you back rubs, it makes it better for a little while at least, but unfortunatly its something that wont go away until you have baby.
good luck

The reason most women get headaches during pregnancy is because they have hypotension (low blood pressure) because not only are you using your blood, so is the baby. You can try tylenol, or go to your doctor and ask them if it is safe to try anything stronger. I hope I could be of help

You can take tylenol for the pain. But my doctor prescribed me Vistaril for some of the bad headaches I was having. It worked well. I would call them and let know you are having some pain and see what they can prescribe. My doctor also printed me up a list of OTC drugs to take as well. Good luck.

I do not know if this will help you out at all but when I was pregnant with my 3rd child I went to the chiropractor because of my lower back pains and it really seemed to help me out.
