A recent poll found that black youth were significantly more likely to be anti-gay than their white and hispanic peers. Why is this the case, and have these statistics changed over the years, or has this group reached a point of inertia?

that poll is wrong. don't believe everything you see. i go to an all black college (maybe 3 white students) and the majority of them are ok with gay people. i am a lesbian and i have not met one person at the school yet who is not ok with it. yeah the guys may be a little indifferent when it comes to gay men but they are ok and also they have no problem with lesbians. the girls at the school are cool with all the gay guys and ok with the gay girls. no one really cares about that stuff at my college. maybe it's just my school because the whole school is close and like one big family

First, do not insult any one, because that makes you an ignorant person; approach all things with deep respect, even when stating your point. Second, I believe you are mixing things up in your lack of knowledge of the Scriptures. Yeshua - the Son of God - did not come here "to liberate the slaves" of society. He said nothing against "slavery". This is a social thing. He came here to speak about His Father, and how He taught us JUSTICE, which is the basis for our problems, even when practising slavery. Hebrews were forbidden to take slaves, unless it was done under War, and - even then - they had to let them free within the Jubilee. There were Jubilees every certain years, and all slaves were set free, even debt was forgiven. Please EDUCATE yourself. Third, homosexuality, ITS PRACTISE, is an "abomination", and no law can make it Legal. That is up to the individuals, if they want to live together being of the same sex, not up to the State to decide, condone or chastise. Christians (true ones at that!, because there are FALSE ones too) do not hate the person, they must hate THE PRACTISE of it. Marriage is NOT for homosexuals people; it is a sacred link between a Man and a Woman, originated by God in a Principle. It does not mean I am going to hate a person because he/she feels homosexual desires and decides to link self to another person of the same sex. Neither will I call that a "marriage", because the PRACTISE OF IT DESERVES DEATH, as much as "fornication" for those who are heterosexuals. Both classes ARE DESERVING DEATH in God's Eyes. I wonder if you believe in God, and THIS IS the problem, not the subject in question here. That is my opinion though. You can do and say whatever you wish.

Blacks have always been anti-gay. I don't know where the assertion that blacks were pro-gay even came about.
Black Americans have traditionally been highly conservative, highly church going people...HELLLLOOOOOO! That would not spell gay supporters to me.

If you want to explore it further just look into the roots of africanism and the male role in African tribal culture... it sure the hell isn't letting another man do you in the butt.
