Hello and please tell me .

How do all you Americans live in Country with that illiterate, twisted baffoon called Bush ! The one you call a President.

We in Britain find it hard to live in the same Country with our none entity raving idiot war criminal called BLAIR.

Its not for us to leave our Countries if we dont like the rulers but for the rulers to get out and do us all a favour.

Any country that's been around long enough has had a bad leader or two. Bush was democratically elected (at least he was in '04) and WOW what a bad leader he has been. Hey law of averages, they can't all be Lincolns.

Don't get too high and mighty though, I seem to recall a few leaders of your country that weren't so hot...

Boy, can I relate. Just like Britain, we here in American occasionally take a hit. The number of voters who actually go to the polls has fallen severely over the past 20 years. Bush got elected because too many of my fellow citizens didn't vote. They were too busy catching up with the Joneses, tending their portfolio, planning their next vacation. They didn't pay any attention to the campaign, did no research...so, as a result, we got that madman in the White House.

Many, if not most of us, are gritting our teeth and counting the days until he goes back to Texas. I think it a lesson well learned. Our great grandchildren will be paying for his folly and America will never be the same again.

I love my country and would never leave it. I am active politically, active in the current anti-war movement and have been active all my life (I am a woman of a certain age - I'll just say "over 55"). I hope and hope that many of my fellow citizens have learned from this horrible experience and will become involved again - will pay attention - will vote.

Hi den.
There are many reasons we choose to remain here. I LOVE the country....I just can not stand the politics!! Many people here have their minds set on supporting a certain party rather than supporting the rights of the people(the US Constitution). That is why we are losing our rights. People just choose to bury their heads in the sand and choose not to see the truth! Some think that because they vote for a candidate.....they think it's ok to trust that person to do what is right for the people. I happen to NOT be one of those. George Bush is really pushing for the New World Order, the National Real ID card, and the Veri-Chip. So many people still believe it was actually foreign terrorists that were responsible for 9-11. That is not true!! It was our own government! Bush and Cheney should be impeached! As an American, I apoligize to you for you guys being dragged into this war. But on the other hand, I will also thank you as well. Because our troops need your support. We could not do this alone. I feel bad when your troops are killed as well as I do ours. I happen to be doing all I can to expose our leaders for what they are. But many more need to get on the bandwagon before it is too late!
Have you seen the movie "V for Vendetta"? You should!! It's an excellent movie. It's more about your country than ours....but much can be learned from it. I wish we had a V right now, right here.
God Bless and take care.

Like many others have said the simple answer is that Bush is President because more people voted for him than against him. Democracy of a sort. But the turnout was only 57%. And you need enormous amounts of money to run a presidential campaign - I heard that Hilary Clinton was looking to collect $75 million for hers.
The least worst system is democracy because it does exactly what you want - leaders can get kicked out - and Bush will be out of power in 2008 (I am pleased to say). But democracy needs to be improved greatly to avoid it being solely a rich man (or woman's) game and to involve more of the people.

First of all bothe leaders are critisized way too much, while both have made some mistakes and will becuase nobody is perfect they have done the best that they could under the circumstances. But also open your mind and look at some of the good they have done. Also keep in mind you may not like what replaces them when they are done after this year the unknown sometimes can be worse than the known.

Was there a question in that rant somewhere? What is your point? From what I know, no-one is leaving the United States in droves to go to England to live because of President Bush being in office. There are probably quite a few more Brits here than Americans there. For what ever else America may be, it is still the wealthiest democracy in the world, a fact our poorer cousins across the Atlantic would be well advised to remember.

Being honest here, I think that we are only told what someone else chose for us to hear...whether it was carefully chosen informational "bits" from the government, or the liberal editor of the newspaper. Ultimately, someone else chooses what people get to hear about, AND they also choose how to present it to us.

I have the strong feeling that no one is being told the whole truth about the major issues of today. Perhaps they do not want to spread a panic, or, perhaps someone just has it out for our leaders so they always paint them in a negative light.

Some things we'll just never know until after the fact.

It's called a democratic republic.

You know, where the people VOTE on who will be their leader.

Once the leader is voted on, he REPRESENTS the people, and does not make decisions based on public opinion polls.

If you do not like his decisions, vote him out of office. But apparently, most people in America and Britain don't agree with you.

Doesn't it seem strange that people are never assassinated even if all the people in the country hate them. But as soon as they do something that goes against the interest of the bankers they are smoked.

Sorry had to throw this one in! But Bush was not legally elected or am I wrong! I seem to remember several recounts and the odd ballot being rigged - was it Florida!
