My sister has given her twins turkish names and they are lovely. One is called Emine (pronounced Emminnay) and one is Allara. Look at some foreign names for beautiful and unusual ones.

It is very difficult when choosing a name. My husband and i are due to have our baby next week and choosing a name was the hardest thing to do. How we came up with a solution was we went out bought a baby name book and at different times we went through and marked the names that we each liked then when we had both went through it we found the matches. Also consider naming the child something that is not in the fad and something that is not already taken by another family member. most importantly is something that you both agree on.

This is what my husband and I did when we were expecting our first:
Go out and get a book of baby names. Go through it and make a list of the names you like the most (include both first and middle names).... do not show it to your girlfriend.
Now she goes through the book and makes a list of the names she likes most (no peeking or making comments as she does it).
You each have a list of names... now compare your lists together and any names that you both have, those are names that you both like -- take all these names and put together 1 final list that you will use to decide on your child's name.

Its hard to pick a name without knowing the surname it is going with. Why don't you buy a baby name book and jot down the ones you like so you have a shortlist. I liked loads of names and had to do this. The name also has to sound right with the names of any brothers and sisters. You wouldn't have Brooklyn or Romeo with Susan for example....
I also think kids don't thank you for wierd names when they get older (think Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz)
Good luck

If you are overwhelmed with all the names out there, think about a few names that you really like and practice calling the baby that name. See it spelled out with the last name, say it while shouting, "go clean your room!" or "eat your dinner" since this name will forever be your son or daughters. Practice saying, "I love you..." and see what name just feels right. When you find the right name, you will know it.

It is one of the most important things naming your baby, you both need to make a seperate list of names you each like then sit down and talk through the names on both lists. Any you both choose put on a joint list then go through the other names you each liked!
My Husband and I decided on Talullah May for a Girl and Finlay John for a boy. Both names were chosen fairly early on so we both got used to each name, when it was time to see our new arrival - a girl - the Midwife said whats her name? we both looked at each other and said Lily May!!! She is definitley a Lily and not a Talullah!!
Good luck, they are such a blessing.
Enjoy every second because they grow up so fast! Lily May is 10mths old now but it feels like yesterday!

Pick names which mean something to you - honour a family member or friend. choose a name from a book or a film you love. Choose a name that reflects your heritage. Don't ask other people!! You child's name is very special.
We named our son "Arthur" as we love the Arthurian legends and as I'm Welsh and my Other Half is English we felt it reflected his "British" Celtic roots. My Other Half also loves the film "King Arthur" with Clive Owen, Keira Knightley etc. Arthur was also my Other Half's grandfather's name and my great uncle's name (who died in the war).
Choose something special to you, not just something that "sounds good" because your child will carry that name for life and it should be a real part of them.
