I have a past and have made changes in my life went back to school and now can't get a job in what I've been trained to do because of a felony that occurred five years ago

Depends on which state you are in currently. In California they ask if you've EVER been convicted of a felony. So many employers just automatically exclude you from consideration.

I'd consult with your local Legal Aid clinic. They give free and low-cost legal advice. Ask them for how long you are legally required to actually disclose the felony.

check with a lawyer as there may be a limit as to the years. however, there are laws which vary state to state and the time limit MAY DEPEND upon the crime committed
