We're both over 25 y/o.
I'm not on the pill.
I am a virgin, he's not.
If I decide to have sex with the guy I'm seeing, do I have to be on the pill or can we just use a condom?

I fully inteded to wait.
I met him over 5 yrs ago. We messed around back then and I *almost* slept with him then.
There was no real pressure then, but he's gotten ALOT more subtle.
It's not just him pushing, I also wanna have sex.

You can just use a condom. If I were you, if you had your virginity this long, why not save it for your husband? It would be something so special. How many people do you honestly know that still have their virginity? Now how many people do you here say they wish they still had it? Keep it, its what separates you from the rest of the women out here. You're pure! Good luck to you.

Please love and respect yourself by insisting on the use of condoms. Condoms help protect against sexual transmitted infections(STI). It is best to use both methods for the first 3-6 months. After that time frame if you both feel that you are and can be committed 100% in a monogamous relationship, you then can decide not to use condoms anymore but not before you both get tested for STI. Make sure you see the results and not just take your partner's word for it. Consult a physician to decide the kind of pills bests suited for you and let your doctor knows right away if you suffer from secondary effect however minor. Your doctor can arrange for STI testing for both of you when you decide it is time. In the mean time do not have sex without the use of a condom. It is about you, your health, your life...this is one area you should never compromise. A loving and respectful partner will agree with you.

You can certainly, and should by all means be using condoms, as they are the best protection against STD transmission. The Pill might help against pregnancy, but it does nothing to protect you from various diseases. If you choose a condom with a spermicidal lubricant, that's also a helpful boost to efficiency.
Nothing wrong with stacking both forms of protection, since they cover different aspects of sexuality quite nicely.

pills make you fat and crazy (extra hormones)
and the condom will break (if he does it right)
neither pill nor condom is 100 percent effective.
condom is only 85 percent
if you dont love him enough to marry him, then why take a 15 percent out of 100 that you will be pregnant
You waited this long, wait till you are married.
What a wonderful gift to give your future husband.
An IUD has a better success rate, get an IUD, and dont DO IT g/f!!!
Wait till youre married... to a nice educated person that respects the fact that you waited for marriage.
Doesnt sound like this guy does

condoms break, fall off, and do not protect you from all STD's
make sure you have both been tested for STD's before you have sex
birth control pills need time to work they also have different strengths so even if you start taking one you may have to change to another one
don't do anything until you have researched all forms of birth control and have been tested

get on the pill NOW... do not have sex after you get on the pill for a WHOLE month- it is safer that way... also use a condom, as he might have some sort of STD... please be safe, it could mean your life!
