I stopped about 2 years ago. Other than getting pregnant the other things that happened were.... my period's all over the place, cramps are bad and that's about it. As long as you use something like condoms you should be fine about the pregnancy part. The period and cramps... not much you can do.

you'll probably get a little pms-y for a few days...(mood swings, sore breasts, cramps) and your periods are going to be heavier and longer (and crampier) then they have ever been for a month or two but then they will go back to somewhere closer to normal.
good side effects, you'll lose the 10 pounds you gained when you went on them, and your periods, if they weren't regular when you went on them will be regular now. (except not the first two cycles...)

I personally do feel that their are side effects to stopping the pill. Sometime you feel bloated and you do put on weight. You also suffer a lot of symptom's which can lead you to think that your pregnant e.g. tender breasts, feeling sick and grumpiness.

the big ONE- you can get pregnant
your hormone levels are changed so in the next few months, you may have surges and be more emotional than usual.
