okay to start with, i will bring up nash's weaknesses, his poor defense, no championships, and uh...well..i think thats it. i wont argue with anyone about those two things. but, crazy as it sounds, his no-D should be one of the main reasons he gets MVP consideration, what he does on offense is so great it practically overshadows everything else. because of the way he plays the suns are an elite team, (jordans bulls were elite) cant say that for kobe(please dont say the lakes are elite this year) or lebron. D-wade cant make heat reach playoffs without superman,(please dont say nash cant do it without amare). only valid case would be Dirk, but without Dirk dallas could still win the West because they are rediculously deep, Dallas' play doesnt solely revolve arould Dirk. Are all these players better players than Nash? maybe. but you have to credit nash for one the quickest and biggest turnarounds for a team in NBA history, and for the past couple seasons he's proven it wasnt a fluke. MVP

MVP doesn't have to be the league's leading scorer or best player, just the driving force behind his team's success. That is what Steve Nash is...he's that driving force. Look at how he has shaped his team and teammates. They have all picked up on his play and are doing the same thing. Look at what happened when Nash missed a game...they lost last night! Does that not tell you how important he is on that team? They are 4-11 without him in the last 3 years...take that into consideration of the whole 3 seasons and they wouldn't have even been playoff contenders! It doesn't matter if you have Amare or Marion (who are great) without Nash they cannot get the ball, they are not open. Nash provides them with wide open layups or dunks night after night and gives them the confidence to do the same thing when they are not wide open. Nash isn't just a leader on the court but he is off the court...he has reflected so positively on his team mates and he pushes himself so hard that it encourages the rest of the team to do the same! How is that not the definition of MVP?

I'll be the first to say that I have no problem with Nash getting the MVP 2 straight times. And I probably wouldn't argue if he gets a third if Phoenix can be up in the top couple in terms of record during the regular season.
BUT, never discount the fact that defense is 50% of the sport. It's as important as offense. I know it's not viewed that way, but you have to think at least one of the reasons Phoenix gives up so many points is because Nash doesn't do a great job stopping the opposing team's point guard, and the point guard - as Nash well knows - is the key to an offense running the way it should.
I don't think Nash will get it this year, if for no other reason than Michael Jordan wasn't even given 3 straight MVPs, just out of the principle that voters didn't think a guy should get 3 straight MVPs. He was always the MVP. Nash isn't as clear cut as that, so I have to think it will be very difficult, regardless of what happens, for him to win a third MVP.

i agree when you said Dirk for MVP but after you said that nash turned the season around that's where i get messed up becasue last year they were a .500 team and this year they are a .760 team and they had NASH last year they were only missing AMARE. he also has hoorible d-fence unlike Dirk he can only make sweet passes and be a good ball handler and hit shot's when needed but if you look at dirk he can do that too at 7 feet tall he is a good ball handler he can hit the 3 as good if not better than Nash and i also don't think any player deserves MVP 3 times in his career so i have to say DIRK for MVP and that's my case why NASH should not be MVP

Anybody who watches Nash play cannot dispute he is MVP material, he has stunning court vision, he's fast as all hell and plays a very clever game everytime out. The one argument you could make is the without a championship he cannot be considered truly great. And anyone with three MVP's (let alone in a row) are the greats of the game. If Steve can't make them make it to the holy grail he doesn't deserve the MVP. But it's not based on that it's based on season play.
Frankly (and as a lakers fan this is not a nice thing to admit) Steve really DOES deserve it again, he has improved yet again and his team is elite thanks partly to his leadership (though it is a good team) but whether or not he'll get it's another story. Three years in a row is a big statement and one that the voters will not likely want to say.
Nash MVP? Why not indeed? but three years in a row is unlikely.

Nash won't win again because there are so many other excellent players in the league. The one who should win is Dirk. The Mavs play is better when he is in the game. It doesn't matter if he is scoring or not he is great on defense and he knows how to move the ball around the court. He will find the open man. I also think Avery should be coach of the year again.

I don't think Nash is the MVP of the league. Sure he leads in assists, but he can't defend. No matter how many points you score or contribute to, you can't win if your opponent walks all over you. Look at what the Jazz did to them. Deron Williams outplayed Nash, not because he is a better player, but because Nash sucks defensively. The suns look like fools whenever they are taken out of their running game. When they actually have to set up an offense or defend a team that sets up an offense they look completely lost.

the way the Phoenix Suns are enjoying appropriate now's the main suitable via fact the days provided that they have been given to the NBA Finals. i think of with Nash, they are able to win the finished element this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days with Amare healthful this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. So confident he will bag the MVP and probable the MVP of the NBA Finals too and the Championship trophy, a known in Phoenix history.

Absolutely, right. He is without a doubt the most valuable player. The Suns are a good team without him, but with him, they rarely lose. He makes them a Championship contending team and it proves in their record when he plays and doesn't play.

Just look at how the Suns have done in these past 3 games without him and you have your answer. Of course he's MVP.
