When I was I think 12, I was really into the idea of being a pilot so my parents got me a charter flight in a single engine cesna.
I had a friend of mine stay over and my dad, my friend and myself got up early the next morning to go to the airport.
Once we took off, the pilot asked me if I wanted to fly the plane for a bit. Of course I said yes! I ended up piloting for the entire flight. We went over the city, then my hometown and some of my friends houses, then my subdivision out in the country then back the the airport where the pilot took over to land.
What a thrill!

One of my happiest childhood memories is when I got my Cabbage Patch Kid. I had been wanting one forever, but at the time (early eighties) they were hard to come by. Finally my grandmother bought me one, and I waited outside down the street for her car to pull up. Isn't it funny how our priorities change as we age?

Happy childhood memories were few and far between but I had two sisters and we would pretend to play house and our house was a happy one. We grew up and are trying to right so many wrongs.

Wow... I had a pretty rough childhood. I'd guess while at my aunt's house with the horses, it was an escape for me.
