The Common Elder flowers in the UK in June. This is the time to pick them for your wines and cordials. You can recognise them by their often large, flat sprays of small white flowers suddenly appearing in hedgerows etc.

Hello Caroline.
Elder is the common name of Sambuccus and i assume you're asking about Common Elder 'Sambuccus nigra'?

Red berried Elder flowers in mid-spring, and American Elder in mid-summer. I hope that helps, x
