according to the 1st law of thermodyanamics...energy can niether b created nor destroyed..it only changes frm 1 form to another...we have biochemical form of energy which is either spent in work or in an other form while doing work to maintain the constant amount of energy in our body (we acquire it as Adenosine Tri Phosphate and the Breakage of the phosphate bonds provide us the energy) we eat food which contains suitable form of energy(ATP) we need. otherwise if somehow we are not able to take food, the macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, fats etc )provide us energy by breaking into smaller molecules..

Food is full of material (carbon skeletons) our body uses to synthesize proteins which repair and replace old and worn out organelles, cells, and tissue. We need food for energy (breakdown of ATP to ADP).

Same reason a car needs gas to run...food is an energy source to the body, without it we would collapse...we couldn't function.

every object that accelerates (basically "moves") needs some amount of work to be done on it. so whether its your muscles or red blood cells or cell production, everything in your body needs energy. this energy comes from glucose. and our only source of glucose is food. every cell in our body requires only oxygen and glucose to function ,and nothin else. this is why we need food to live

Because most of the functions of our cells/orgians require energy (ATP). When we eat food our bodies are able to make ATP, there for making our orgians work.

Isn't one of the criteria for "life" (of any organism) that it must use energy...as in eat or assimilate or osmosis, etc.
