I think it's just a way of them trying to get us to work longer..

Working hard is during the time of our grandfather and the babybommers... the next generation work smart unless their job is their dream career.
Anyway a job is just a job and it pays the bills and buys food, thats all. Dont be loyal to it or the employer. Get a better offer, please leave what ever you are doing and start afresh. Search yourself, what you are good at and love to do 24/7 without getting tired or bored; thats what you should be working towards for both hard and smart.
