All the kids wanted to be Reagan, we fought over who got to play his part in the President's Day school play. George Washington was o.k. but his stupid cherry-tree got nothing over the Gipper's Star Wars SDI program!

A great man who was ahead of him time. Fixed the "malaise" left over from the previous resident of the Oval Office, ended the Cold War, and was not recognized in his time. Fortunately he lived long enough so the country could see how he was the right man for the times. President Bush is suffering the same fate.

Ronnie Reagan, the movie actor.

He was a good communicator (he was, after all, an actor), he had a good heart, he was a funny man, he laughed alot, he had the intestinal fortitude to stay married to Nancy all those years, he gave great State Dinners and looked wonderful in a tux. There is a lot to like about him - but he was NOT presidential material.

All one had to do, before voting, was to research what Reagan did to the State of California as governor. But, as usual, my fellow citizens drank the kool-aid of sizzle over steak and we got him....

It is truly scary how we Americans just hand over our freedoms, our country and everything we are to someone we really don't know anything about.

He never had an original thought in his life.

I remember the 80's were about the prouldest decade since the 40's for this country. The 70's were horrible due to the lack of political will in Viet Nam and then Watergate. Carter was like milk toast (we couldn't even get our hostages out of Iran). Then came the cowboy from the west who really believed in America. Isn't it funny how Iran is still the troublemaker in the world and very few chose to see it.

Reagan became prez right after I got out of high school- he sucked rocks..religious, narrow minded, bigoted and an effete snob but he had great speech writers and could talk a good game..man those years were quite desolate as far as the job market was concerned..and as far as social programs, educational programs and foreign policy was concerned too, come to think of it...
