Reality is the missing link when it comes to talking about creation, its certainly a complicated piece of physics to get your head round but unless we can prove what is real and what is not space travel to me seems doomed. Traveling long distances in space will rely on probabilities and quantem physics but do you and the scientist realise the importance of reality as a scientific tool

I think reality is based on what is experienced as physical laws and what is observable, by numerous participants, simultaneously. In a reference where all the participants (people) within a system, agree and interact with a universal acceptance, then that is a reality. It really makes no difference if its imagined, synthetic or based on the principles of physics, if many believe it, then it appears to be real, to them!

There is an objective reality, independent of human experience. Then there is sociological reality. Sociological reality is something that humans have individually been contributing to since--fill in blank-- We are educated by people who have been educated by people who were educated by people. The way we view our sociological reality is something that is largely dependent on how the people before us decided to view it or in how we allow someone else to decide. For instance, the structure of our governments, the way we view relationships, the way we talk, the way we think, the way we work, the way we play, the way we act. Together we all decide what our sociological reality will be. So, while we are all constrained by environmental and biological objective reality there is a lot of play in how we can establish our sociological environments. So I have two definitions of reality and I think it's important to define which is being communicated about. Sadly, I can't fly on my own, that is a biological constraint, but because of the sociological reality we all contribute to and people in history have contributed to I can get in a plane and go anywhere I want. Sociological reality can be whatever we choose it to be within objective reality's constraints. Every single one of us either decides or leaves the decisions to others.

If it "EXISTS" it is 'REAL'. It doesn't have to have substance - ie. if you have a hideaway world in your imagination then you'd have to admit that your imagination is 'REAL' simply because it exists and in the same context - the hideaway world is real whilst inside your imagination and as a place that exists it may need to be left behind someday so that you can take more part in the real world OUTSIDE of your imagination.
Even something built artificially is real simply because it EXISTS!
I personally believe that whatever we can imagine - can be made possible yet understand that some of the physical laws we know may have to be used and manipulated in different ways to accomodate our dreams and desires.
When our planet is completely doomed we shall be a whole lot more deviant in our research and shall break every law made in order to preserve ourselves - hopefully there will be enough time to learn what we need to before this kind of action becomes necessary.
why aren't people with terminal illness given the chance to explore space on a one way trip to provide us with some of the answers we still need?

Science is reality. Creation is false. Space travel is false. Man can not survive in space. There are reason trips to the moon are short. There are reasons the space station in not in outer space.

Reality is knowing these things. Reality is believing science and not religion or the media or lame leaders.

I can argue similarly that reality is something that is missing when one talks about religion although I am a religious portion. Reality is when I swing a hammer at a nail and hit your thumb. You definitely have a stimulation of the senses.

Something that exists independently of all other things and from which all other things derive. Something that constitutes a real or actual thing, as distinguished from something that is merely apparent.

If you ask the question the answer is already known. To find it you need to go beyond the mind and intuitively find it in your present being.

Reality is a fiction. It's something outthere inside you regardless of you.
