hello ive been to the doctors this morning with my little boy and the doctor has given him this medicine and i was wondering what it was and what does this acually treat. thankyou and hope to hear from you soon.

It is a decongestant, I wasn't aware that it was often used for children though.

do you mean....Pseudoephedrine? u have an i in the begining id u mean Pseudoephedrine this is what it is.....


Pseudoephedrine is used to relieve nasal discomfort caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. It is also used to relieve sinus congestion and pressure. Pseudoephedrine is in a class of medications called sympathomimetic agents that are used as nasal decongestants. It works by causing narrowing of the blood vessels of swollen nasal mucous membranes to reduce nasal congestion and allow drainage of sinus passages.

It's a decongestant, but does not "cure" anything. It just relieves symptoms.

Pseudo ephedrine is found in cold and flu medications, its what some people are obtaining illegally to make into the drug "speed"

Think its a stimulant based decongestant... dont use it at night...

pseudoephedrine is just sudafed, which is a decongestant cold medication. why didnt you ask the doctor while you were there?
