As a native New Yorker in my opinion the market is showing signs of stabiliaztion from record highs. It is still very expensive in NYC and surrounding boroughs. It is still however a buyers market and you can get a good deal. There are less transactions occurring and oversupply of properties.

taxes are high and ppl are moving out as fast as they can

no new businesses are moving in

up state ny is a bite in the dust

you can buy alot of property for under 75000 but what are you going to do with it but pay taxes

you better think before you jump this way

It depends on where in NY. NYC is really expensive. Other towns are not that bad. We just bought a house in Gloversville and paid under 60k and it is a wonderful house.
