It sounds like maybe you have hard water in your area . Every once and awhile I'll take vinegar in a bowl and just run the dishwasher to make sure its really clean inside. Maybe that would help also.

This may happen if your rinse water is not being softened sufficiently, or, if you are not rinsing correctly.
Have you recently moved house? Were you in a soft water area, now in a hard or harder water area? Check your water companies website, that will tell you how hard the water is, set that setting to the machine, as per handbook.
If that is not the case, you may have a blockage/partial blockage in the pressure sensing galleries, these control the levels etc. Not a cast iron garantee, take a shallow bowl, fill with washing soda (asda/tesco 55pence a bag) empty the whole bag into the bowl, do a hard/intensive wash.without any detergent.may sort your prob. By the way, save yourself a mint, get Salt 25kg at a time in Homebase/B&Q ...water softener salt. While you get Washing Soda, get 2 bags, give your Washing Machine a treat, same rotine, hot wash, no detergent. You will be shocked at the bubbles in the machine from residual soap.

I believe your detergents are not dissolving enough before the cycle is complete. My plumber told me I should only use liquid dishwashing detergent in my detergent. The powders and tablets don't dissolve enough and build up on the inside of your pipes. I use Cascade complete and never have any problems. Also, make sure your water is hot enough. Turn up your hot water tank if necessary.

You might be using too much rinse-aid - are the tablets ones wth rinse-aid in already? If so, change to ones without it in, or stop adding rinse-aid seperately
