For low cost accomodation try www.lastminute.com- they have some great rates for London accomodation- sometimes they have mystery 4 star hotels for really good rates!

With regards to a nice meal go to www.toptable.co.uk and check out the special offers they have- many places offer 50% off!

I am sure you can get something well within your budget on those sites!

How about including afternoon tea at The Ritz to really make it a memorable occasion! I went this week and it was definitely something to remember! It costs £36 per person, which does sound expensive but you get nearly two hours of sandwiches galore and yummy pastries...as many as you can eat...they just keep refilling without you needing to ask! All sorts of teas and that keeps coming too! They have a pianist playing.

Men need to wear jacket and tie, jackets shouldn't be removed and ladies dress smart. No jeans or trainers.

You have to book, you can do this online. They have 5 slots per day.

Why not stay at a travel Inn just outside London to keep the cost down.

All the museums are free...if you can Camden Market is like no other market you'll see, really worth a trip...wear comfortable shoes though!

Borough food market is great near southwark cathedral and does really great bacon sarnies for about £3. there is a really cool flower market in the east end on sundays... if your into that kinda thing..

If you like tapas go to cafe espanol in dean street you can't book but its a great atmosphere and top tapas. the further you stay out of london the cheeper it will be... particularly around valentines... alough lots of hotel do deals etc... London is actually pretty cheep if you know where your going loads of markets, museams, galleries etc... so i would say either spend more on a room and less on going out or vis versa.

China Town is awesome and cheap, so colourful and exciting, such a good place to get a banquet on a budget. Natural History Museum is free too - and we love it there.
