My cycle has been pretty screwy lately, therefore I'm not really sure when I ovulated (exactly) or when my period should be arriving. I took a test on Saturday, because I just had a feeling that I was pregnant. After about 30 seconds when I saw that it was negative I walked away. I came back about 2 hours later and there was a BFP plain as day (nice and dark)! I couldn't believe it! I have never gotten a BFP before (even after throwing them away, coming back the next day and taking the stupid thing apart, holding it up to the light and anything imaginable) so I knew that this had to be it! But then I decided to take another test this morning, just to confirm my excitement, and because there were two tests in the box, and this one was negative. I'm so confused! I'm going to the Dr. on the 21st for my pre-conception appointment, so I'm sure they'll tell me then, but I want to know now!! Any suggestions for me? Thanks! :)

I'm having a few symptoms, such as very sensitive nipples, mild cramping and bloating. Its uncomforatble for me to wear my jeans and sit down, I had to unbutton them yesterday while I was driving!

I went through the same exact thing with my first pregnancy, and I also had irregular periods. Finally after going to the doctor and having a physical exam, he told me I was pregnant. I still had my period for the first three months of my pregnancy too. Good Luck.

That's weird. HPTs rarely come back positive if you aren't pregnant, so I would lean that in that direction. Even if you had miscarried, the hormones would still be in your system, thus giving you a positive reading.

Even though you let it sit a lot longer than is recommended, I still wouldn't expect it to be positive if you weren't pregnant.

Get a completely different brand and try again, preferably one of the high-sensitivity tests. Good luck!

Could have been an evaporation line, though they aren't usually so dark. I'd probably go and buy another test just to be sure because I wouldn't be able to wait either.

Good Luck to you.

well i really hope for your sake its a positive and the second one was faulty but they do say not to read the result after 10 minutes because it can give you a false positive reading...maybe,hopefully the one you have is different.good luck!!!!

Most tests tell you not to read them after 10 min. so it was prob. negative and then you left it there so long it changed but they say not to read them after that long b/c they wont be correct.
