The two names we have picked are
sofia jean - more popular first name, middle name is family name
or
jeanie clare - not very popular first name... is it too unusual/cute?

I know a 14 yr old w/ the name Jeaniejo, so it's not so unusual these days. I like Jeanie Clare better than Sofia Jean.

I would go with a longer first name for Jeanie and use Jeanie for a nickname - Jeanette Clare is very pretty and Jeanie would make a cute nickname! I think that Jeanie is too nickname-y to be used as a given name. Sofia Jean is okay as well. Good luck choosing!

Which name has more significance for you? I would go the first name for the fact that it is more popular. therefore there may not be as many people to have difficulties with the spelling and pronounciation. It is horrible going through life correcting people.Or you could combine the two. Sofia clare or Clare sofia sounds lovely to me.

Not crazy about Sofia, reminds me of the little old lady from Golden Girls. I do like Sophie though...I think that it is cute....Sophie Jean is nice.
Jeanie Clare is old fashioned to me.
