my girlfriend has just about everything....she buys what she needs, so it's almost impossible to think of something she doesn't have.......that is unless we are talking about tools for her house. She loves to do home imporvement projects, but have inferior tools for the jobs she takes on.

What is your opinion of buying a girlfriend tools for home improvement products for Valentines day...??? I bought her flowers the other day for her house, so I don't think i'm going to do the flowers thing....I think that is cliche'.

I think that you are sweet and thoughtful and obviously you are trying to come up with something novel that will please your girlfriend. You are doing all of the right things!

Tools for home improvement thing are what you give to someone on their birthday but not on Valentines day. Something romantic is the theme for the day of hearts and that includes a quiet romantic dinner on a classy place, or a romantic getaway. Of course it wont hurt if she'll receive another piece of jewelry from you if you havent got her one yet. But if youre on a budget, bring her somewhere where theres a nice view of nature and prepare a picnic basket.

Tools on the side, but you need something from the heart!

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Anything that she would like is appropriate. It doesnt really matter what the "standard" gift should be or what others will think of it. Give her whatever will show her that you care about her. That is the whole idea isnt it?
