The best is subjective but my answer would be yes and yes I live in the Cotswolds and I am English but my answer would be this.
I have have been lucky enough to see some truly beautiful places in the world but the English countryside whilst not dramatic is stunning in its subtlety- gentle rolling hills, ancient bluebell carpeted woodlands with babbling brooks, windswept empty golden beaches along jagged fossil lined coast. What makes it special though is the way ancient and modern man has seamlessly integrated and celebrates it, you can walk freely across the dales the wolds and walk amongst mysterious standing stones, long barrows, golden lie stoned villages, kissing gates and stately homes that have stood the test of time without cordons and hordes of tourists - you just feel part of the landscape. And as for our weather we have real seasons and each landscapes changes and comes into its own whether deep frost, bursting spring daffodils and snopdrops, summer festivals in pubs alongside canals or old archaic traditions such as cheese rolling on Coopers Hill. This all combines to make is something very unique and magical about the English countryside (and Welsh and Scottish) that I have never seen anywhere else in the world.

Sure all countries have beautiful countryside - nobody said they didn't and I don't recal ever hearing anyone probclaim that England is more beautiful than anywhere else. The English countryside is beautiful in its own right without cmparisons to anywhere else. It is all in the eye of the beholder. I take it, given that you have listed all those places, that you have actually visited them. Why do I get the feeling that that is not the case?

If it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen then it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Nobody is entitled to give me my own opinion.
I don't claim English countryside to be the most beautiful in the world but I have never been to any of those places and have seen few images of them (not that simply imagery can substitute actually being there) so there is little to compare it to.
As someone already said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Well I'm English, I live on the Costa Blanca and for me this is the most beautiful place in the world, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All those places you mention are beautiful, stunning in fact but so are some areas of Britian. Which is the most beautiful is a purely subjective decision. Surely we are entitle to see the beauty in many places but still have a personal favourite.

I think you're missing the point; the English countryside is beautiful but not spectacular. What makes it beautiful to the English is that its their home.
"Cos ur all english ur gonna disagree" ? I don't exactly disagree but I don't feel any need to move somewhere more scenic. Odd question.

Never mind, we have Helen Mirren!!
Aren't you being just a tad churlish? Of course all of those places are beautiful, I agree with you.
But the English countryside is beautiful too. I wonder how much of the English countryside you have actually experienced? There is so much variety - from the Norfolk broads, the Yorkshire dales, and the Devon and Cornwall coast ....to name just a few.
England is beautiful in its inimitable English way. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Do they? I've lived/visted a few countries and yes, I agree that there are many beautiful countries in the world. I love the English countryside - one of my fondest memories is walking through a field of hay with poppies. We love where we're at, ain't that the thing?

Have you ever heard the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder?" All of these places are beautiful, but "better"? Surely that's up to the individual to decide. You are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but so is everybody else. And no, I'm not English before you ask.
