Why did all those blue nosed scousers from Everton got really knarked when Rafa from Liverpool Red Sox called them a small club - I for one agree with him!
How do you define a BIG Club? Surely you need more than a half decent history to warrant such a tag? I would list Manyoo, Arsenal, Chelskii & The Liverpool Red Sox as the only big clubs in the EPL.

Ok, fair enuff about Chelskii.
Kosum - the fact that they've been in the top flight since forever really means diddly squat!

Paignton Sportsman, dont be so ridiculous!! Having said that, there's more chance of those clubs merging than you getting 10pts!

Big is such a broad term. On one hand, some might consider Everton a big club (in a broad/general perspective) because it's in one of the biggest leagues in the world. On the other hand, Everton may not be consider big when compared to other bigger clubs, like Barcelona (more specific perspective).

When was the last time Everton were out of the top flight?
Liverpool 2nd division in the 60's, Man u the 70's. Look at Villa, Leeds, Sheff Wed. I'm a Rangers man but I admire Everton. Cup winners.league winners and massive support in Asia. Of course they are a big club.

What are you going on about. Chelsea......a big club!!!??? They may be successful right now but for 50 odd years they did nothing. Everton are the 4th most successful club in English football. How can they not be a big club.
I think the remark by Benitez says more about him than Everton. It was his own sides inability to break down Everton's defence that made him say it. Another example of a foreign manager spitting his dummy out when an opposing team have the cheek to defend properly!!!

I deffo agree with Rafa the Gaffa, look on the Liverpool website and see how many trophied Liverpool have won. Even have 5 yes, thats 5, FIVE European Cups/Champions League trophies. Bob Paisley won it three times with three different teams and still didn't get a knighthood, unlike that guy from Manure who only won it once in ten years and Rafa won it in one. No comparison eh?..........Ars* and all and Manure have history too, Chelski need another twenty years to get REAL history.......Who? Oh! Everton, they're a Sunday League team aren't they

I think it depends on ambition and support. Newcastle are a big club but have got not a lot in the trophy cabinet! Chelsea are definitely a big club, money kinda does that for you. Blackburn were when they were buying the likes of Shearer but once he went you could see the club shrink. Man City are a big club too but just play like a small one!

Don't forget that if Everton had not had a row with the owner of their original stadium & moved to Goodison, that other crowd would never have been formed. You would do well to remember that

its all history. Not so long ago the toffees were a huge club and Liverpool Derby's were must see events, but most English clubs have a long history. long ago Blackpool was one of the best clubs in England. its all to do with fate & fortune and good managment.
look at Reading!
