That would depend on the type of games you like playing ! If its sports some of the best games are: MVP Baseball 2005, NBA 2k series, NCAA football series, Madden series and Tiger Woods PGA Tour. For auto racing try something like: Gran Turismo 4, Toca Race Driver 3, Nascar Dirt to Daytona and Tourist Trophy (motorcycle racer made by the people who make Gran Turismo series).
Other games that are good games are: Beyond Good and Evil, ICO, Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time, Rez (weird game but its very addictive and fun to play once you get the hang of it), MGS 3, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series, Final Fantasy series and Guitar Hero.
Just a few games that are good games ! Some are older games that should now cost around 20 bucks or so but they are well worth the money.

GTA: SA was the best selling game on the PS2 but I prefer Resident Evil 4. In my opinion, RE4 was the best game ever. There were moments in the game that I will not forget and since the release, many developers have listed RE4 as motivation for their games (Gears of War being one of these).
