It's light in the morning before sunrise because our atmosphere scatters the light. Since the atmosphere extends miles above us, it is hit before we are with sunlight, The molecules and dust in the air reflect the light. If there were no atmosphere, it would be pitch black until sunrise.,

The sun is visible to us 2 min before the actual sunrise and 2 min after the actual sunset. This is due to the refraction of light. The light rays while passing through the dense layers of the earth's re go on bending and when this light reaches our eyes, we feel that there is light in the morning and evening when the sun is below the horizon...
