Here are my top ten tips for surviving adolescence
1) Understand that this is a phase of life and probably the very hardest phase of life to get through but like all phases it does pass.
2) When you peers are pressuring you into anything at all stop and think it through. Do not go along with them because they are your peers and do not go against them because you want to avoid peer pressure, rather think through the situation with a rational mind.
3) Use condoms. They not only prevent pregnancy but also prevent the contraction of serious illnesses that have the potential and liklihood to kill you. Don't make sex a death sentence.
4) Don't disregard the advice of the adults around you just because they are adults. They have been through adolescence and the fact they made it to adulthood means they know something of surviving adolescence.
5) Go as far as you possibly and sensibly can with your education. Yes years of learning can seem boring but with a good education you will have more choices in your future. You can still choose to be a labourer, waiter, or even a beach bum or dole bludger if you are educated but you can also choose to be much more. If you have little education your choices are limited.
6) Learn from your past and move on. We all make mistakes. Don't worry too much about the mistakes you make in your adolescence they will seem less and less significant as the years go on.
7) Good things happen to bad people with about the same frequency as bad things happening to good people. Life is not fair. It never has been.
8) Whatever it is you think your parents wont understand they probably already did.
9) Learn a hundred ways to say no. Saying "No" is one of the most helpful tools you can have in your personal bag of tricks. You wont find yourself being used by others, being led around by the nose by others, or feeling you have little control in your life if you know a hundred ways to say "No" (here are a few to start you off: "That is not something I would do", "No thank you", "I can't help you with that", "I don't have the time.", "You will need to find someone else to do that", "No", "You can do that for yourself"
10) Just be you. You are who and what you are meant to be. Be yourself and accept yourself for who and what you are.

There's a lot of things teenagers must do to survive now a days. But the must is the financial survival. You must know how to budget your money, and you must not spend it like your gonna die the next day. SAVE! SPEND WISELY! so you'll never ask your parents for money for something too personal. Like tampons or the like...

Keep living and don't worry about everything so much. Being a teenager can be fun and it can suck at the same time. Just hang in there, use your common sense and don't be so sensitive or dramatic about when things don't go your way. That's life.

Give ME a tip how to survive it. (I have 3 girls).
In all seriousness, know that the lows are only temporary. Know that even though your parents may not like what you do, they still love you. That growth comes from mistakes and even from pain. That you are on the highway of your life.....don't drive to fast ;-)
