I am not afraid to admit that I support many of Obama's political stances, and altough officially I am a moderate, I tend to lean left. However, if his stance on drug use is too liberal I may reconsider my opinion but I can't seem to find anything on this that has a solid basis in fact. I understand Obama himself has used drugs in the past (though I believe it is incredibly bizarre that some on the far right criticize given our current president's history) and don't need to be informed of that; what I want to know is what his stance on it is NOW. Thank you.

If you have your own opinions on the matter, I respect that. In return I ask you to not mock my own. I do not present this question to be judged, I present this question to be answered. If you are passionate about something, that's fine, I dont' believe anyone should impose their own political beliefs on others, and almost as much I find it despicable to belittle others for holding opinions that do not match up with your own. It's naive to think anyone could state their opinion on a public forum and not be berated by others, but I had hoped many would have the courtesy to answer an honest question and to those who have and will I thank you. To those who have and will not, feel free to state your opinion, know it will be considered, and also know that the context it is put in (i.e. saying it like an ***) will not improve your chances of altering my opinion. Nothing is set in stone, and I am willing to listen to reason when it is presented.

So you enjoy incarceration of your fellow citizens and the ever increasing tax burden based solely on laws meant to control personal choices?

His view is the same as all politicians, keep government big and keep fighting a worthless "war on drugs".

We will never win this "war". People will ALWAYS use drugs. Drug laws cost more money than the "evil" effects of drug use ever would.

The man admitted to using cocaine and pot on TV (60 Minutes) if that's any indication. I understand that everyone makes stupid choices. However, you should live with the consquences. According to him, it was just a typical teenage thing. He makes it sound like no big deal. It is a big deal. Most of the people I know didn't use drugs. They were too busy trying to study for exams in high school. The president should be the ideal person (NOT necessarily a perfect person). I want the person who was on the football team and a member of the honor society when he was a teenager. I wouldn't want just any F-nut, pot-head to be president. Bottom line, you make choices you should live w/ them. What kind of message is it to send out to do something wrong and then it's just OK if you admit it and call it stupid? He should pay a price and price is NOT to be presient. He isn't worthy to be president (Bush isn't either).

i'd be prepared to guess that his truly stance is for decriminalization. yet that would desire to by no ability be his 'respectable' stance. If any candidate introduced he became something yet anti-drug, it would be finished political suicide. purely seem on the libertarian candidate. Oh, you do no longer understand who this is? precisely. God, I hate this u . s ..

I looked on his web site, and the link to his stance on drugs didn't work. Maybe he doesn't know his own stance yet! Check his web site in a week or so to see if it is back up.
